World Geography gives students a complete snapshot of Earth’s geography by focusing on each of the seven continents, along with the waterways that support and surround them. By offering an in-depth look at the physical and human geography of each continent, World Geography explores the landforms, resources, populations, cultures, and more of the entire planet.
This 4th edition features updated maps and data, as well as a spotlight on the natural wonders located in each of the inhabited continents. Each section now includes a multiple-choice quiz to assess understanding of the continent covered in that section, and the entire book culminates with a brand new World Geography Game that can serve as an ideal (and fun!) cumulative assessment of all of the information students have learned about our world.

Very good resource for quick activities relating to physical geography. The activities will likely not address the entirety of the geography strands of any state curriculum (or the Common Core, if I understand it correctly), but it's a good place to start with fundamental concepts. The book deals with continents, rather than regions, but can be fairly easily adapted to a regional focus. Activities repeat across units. For example, each unit (except Antarctica) has a latitude and longitude activity, all have mapping and graphing activities, activities to identify and label physical features, native plants and animals, and so forth. This reinforcing of concepts throughout the instructional year makes it much more useful than a lot of focused one-off activities. There is no CD, but the eBook is a quick download and includes the entire contents. Many may find the eBook easier to use than the hard-copy. Massive "thumbs-up" for this as a supplemental resource.
