Language Arts, Writing, Writing Process
Grade 5- 8
Students use descriptive language to write about imaginary adventures.
Ask students if they have ever thought of traveling to foreign places. Write their destinations on the board and have students discuss them.
Encourage students to think about why people voluntarily go on adventures. Why are people willing to risk their lives? What do people gain from their adventures?
Discuss with students what they would need to bring on their adventures. Who would they take along with them? How long would it take? What would happen?
If time permits, allow students to read their stories aloud to the class.
