Dr. Edward Fry

Dr. Edward Fry developed both the Fry Readability Graph and a list of Instant Words—the words that readers need to be able to comprehend instantly because they are so commonly used.

Dr. Fry was a frequent speaker at local and international reading conferences. He taught in the California public schools, at Loyola University of Los Angeles, and at two African universities. He was a Professor of Education and the Director of the Reading Center at Rutgers University.
